Dental appointments for children are important not only to evaluate tooth and gum health but also to educate the young patient in how to prevent dental problems and maintain a healthy smile throughout his or her life. Most children need intervention at an early age in there dentition to prevent premature tooth decay and tooth loss. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists recommend that all children have an initial checkup when they begin to have their first tooth erupt. (This usually occurs between 9-12 months) Dr. Warren believes that early intervention is the key to prevent problems and train parents how to take care of their child’s dental needs.
Dr. Warren begins seeing children at any age, but will usually refer children 6 years of age or under to a Pediatric Dentist for treatment and follow-up care.
* We will also speak with the parent(s), guardian(s) or accompanying adult(s) about how to care for the child's teeth and also answer any questions they may have.
